The Rooney’s Golf Foundation started hosting the Armed Forces Appreciation Breakfast in 2018 at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, FL. This patriotic event honors those who served and are serving to protect our country. The program includes breakfast or lunch, patriotic songs, a keynote speaker, and a preview of the upcoming Army-Navy Football Game. Past keynote speakers include former Congressman Thomas J. Rooney, Vietnam Veteran/former Pittsburgh Steeler, Rocky Bleier, former Naval Academy and Football Player, Napoleon McCallum, former Pittsburgh Steeler and Army Ranger Captain, Alejandro Villanueva, Richard Y. Newton III, Lieutenant General, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), and in 2024, First Sergeant Matt Eversmann (Ret.).

 

The 2025 Armed Forces Appreciation Luncheon was on December 11, 2025 at The Paddock Restaurant. The keynote speaker wass Clinton Romesha, who is a Former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, Medal of Honor recipient, and the author.  The benefiting charities were Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Warriors Renewal Coalition, Unified Dream, and Wounded Veterans Relief Fund.
