The Rooney’s Golf Foundation started hosting the Armed Forces Appreciation Breakfast in 2018 at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, FL. This patriotic event honors those who served and are serving to protect our country. The program includes breakfast or lunch, patriotic songs, a keynote speaker, and a preview of the upcoming Army-Navy Football Game. Past keynote speakers include former Congressman Thomas J. Rooney, Vietnam Veteran/former Pittsburgh Steeler, Rocky Bleier, former Naval Academy and Football Player, Napoleon McCallum, former Pittsburgh Steeler and Army Ranger Captain, Alejandro Villanueva and in 2023, Richard Y. Newton III, Lieutenant General, U.S. Air Force (Ret.).

 

Our 2024 Armed Forces Appreciation Luncheon was held on December 10, 2024 at The Paddock Restaurant. The keynote speaker was First Sergeant Matt Eversmann (Ret.), whose inspiring story of survival was immortalized in the film, Black Hawk Down.

 

The benefiting charities were Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Warriors Renewal Coalition, Unified Dream, and Wounded Veterans Relief Fund.
